Timpani and Percussion Masterclass!
- Underground Youth Orchestra, continuing its educational activities, is organizing a masterclass in timpani and percussion with the distinguished leading timpanist of Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, Guido Rückel.
The masterclass includes one-hour private lesson, focusing on orchestral études and orchestral excerpts, as well as group practice with an emphasis on excerpts from the symphonic repertoire.
In addition, an audition simulation will be conducted.

The active participants may, if they wish, bring their own instruments.

BIO
- Guido Rückel grew up in a very musical family in Berlin. The desire to play percussion instruments was present all his life. During his studies at Berlin Music School-Reinickendorf, Guido Rückel played in the symphony and wind orchestras as well as in the Reinickendorf Music School Big Band.
He studied at Berlin University of the Arts with Thomas Lutz και Hans Ulrich. In 1995, he began a one-year engagement as a trainee with the Berliner Sinfoniker.
In 1996, he was accepted into the Orchestra Academy of Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, where he was taught by Rainer Seegers (timpani) and Franz Schindlbeck (percussion). Since September 1997, Guido Rückel has been solo timpanist with the Munich Philharmonic.
He was teaching at the universities in Augsburg, Trossingen and Graz. Guido Rückel is head of the percussion section of Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
